WEB ACCESSIBILITY
The website has been designed by adopting a series of measures aimed at ensuring that everyone can browse its content without encountering difficulties in accessing information and services.
The accessibility policy applied by the City Council is aligned with the requirements of Royal Decree 1494/2007, of November 12, which approves the Regulation on the basic conditions for the access of people with disabilities to technologies, products, and services related to the information society and social communication media.
The benefits of this include, among others:
- Facilitating access for people regardless of their physical condition or environment.
- Allowing access through different user agents.
- Including clear and well-structured content.
- Improving navigation and user experience.
Among the measures adopted:
- Logical order in the presentation of elements on screen and in the code.
- Use of W3C standards
- HTML 5 and CSS 3 grammar
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) level AA according to Standard UNE 139803:2012.
The design and layout have been developed taking into account the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0), which directly affect this part of the development:
- Separation of content and presentation through style sheets.
- Use of relative units (allowing text resizing and fluid layouts).
- Control of colour contrast.
The City Council considers the accessibility of its portal as a continuous process of improvement and invites citizens to participate with any suggestions (contenidosweb@oviedo.es)
